One of the best things about the internet is the ability to seek out like-minded individuals for the sole purpose of collaborating.  A few months ago I had the good fortune of “meeting” Joshua Krohn, and when he started The Just Love Project I was on his list of contributing illustrators.  Obviously, I accepted his invitation.

The concept for the poster is less mysterious than people think.  Since the theme of the project is “Just Love” I thought it would be appropriate to create a message for all of the folks in love in this big ol’ world of ours.  I’ve always thought the moon would be as romantic a place as any to run away with the person I love.  In short, this piece was created for my wife, Sandy.  This is my way of giving her the moon.

The print is currently ready for pre-order and I’ll be working with Aaron Scamihorn to personally screen print each and every unit.

I have a solution.  I’ve created a private Tumblr account that only our Senior Design Staff will have access to. This will eliminate HR from the initial selection process and give the prospective hires a better chance to have their work seen.

Just compose an email as shown.  If our Senior Design Staff likes what they see they’ll take the time to review your LinkedIn profile. It’s really that simple.  So what are you waiting for?

TIPS:

- Email This Address

- Avoid dragging and dropping images into your email.  Use the “Attach A File” feature, as it keeps the Tumblr posts nice and neat.

- Tumblr will automatically resize your images, but keep them a reasonable size… let’s say, 600 px wide,  72 dpi, JPG and of course RGB.

- Name your sample images using your real name as shown.

- The ONLY thing that should be in the message field is your LinkedIn public profile link.

- Hop to it… we’re looking to fill these positions rather quickly.

If you’re a designer there’s no doubt you’ve heard of Designers.MX by now.  I’m proud to have been able to contribute to this awesome project created by fellow designer Blake Allen and  his associates at CoFinery.  Rumor has it they’re allowing mixers to post up to one mix a month… stay tuned, my friends.

When designing for the 8-12 year old demographic I generally keep the graphics more illustrative.  Designs aimed at the adolescent consumer tend to be more verbiage oriented.

All of the images shown are my own, original illustrations, and all of the type treatments shown are custom.  I avoid using existing typefaces whenever possible.
